Description

Senior Executive, with more than 20 years of experience in General Management in several industrial sectors in Romania.

Since November 2010, Bogdan is the President of Smithfield Romania, a Group which includes the 8 distinct operational entities responsible for as many different complementary sectors, in the food production industry [starting with farming ( Smithfield Farms), production (Smithfield Prod), processing (Smithfield Procesare), and ending up with wharehousing distribution and logistics (Agroalim Distribution, Agroalim Logistics SA and Frigorifer SA). He serves as Director or Chairman/Vice Chairman for all the companies mentioned above besides his involvement in the leadership of other industry professional associations: PRCP, ARC, OICP/OIPA.

Bogdan has extensive experience in the consumer goods industry, with substantial functional track record  in general management, business development, NPD, production, marketing and distribution.

Bogdan Mihail joined Smithfield Group in 2007 as Managing Director of Smithfield Ferme. Previsosly he served as Vice President and CEO of Prodal Group.

He is a graduate of 'Carol Davila' University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania. During 1999-2001, he took an Executive MBA at Asebuss & Washington University of Seattle, followed in 2002 by Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School (HBS) USA. In 2006 he graduated the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD France. Bogdan is a member of IoD (Institute of Directors) UK since 2010 and Fellow since 2014. He is INSEAD IDP’c since 2015.

Bogdan Mihai is a founding member of CEIODR (the Committee for the Establishment of the first Institute of Directors in Romania), an initiative of a part of the Romanian Private Sector business environment. As such, he acts as a driving force, closely involved in the effort to design the right strategy and to bring together the many contributing factors and stakeholders which will make this initiative successful, for the benefit of the Romanian business community.
